Traditional measurement and estimating processes can become more difficult when project designs change frequently. The use of 5D BIM for quantity surveying allows quantities and cost information to be linked more closely to the developing digital model. When model elements are updated, the associated information can support more efficient reviews of potential cost changes. This gives quantity surveyors greater visibility during design development.
